Tahzib

Available now

Meaning-guided portions, adapted to your rhythm.

A Quran reader and planner for khatma, prayer, and multi-level tahzib. Its tadabbur-based division engine uses meaning relationships and thematic continuity between verses to choose coherent reading endings, then balances the amount according to your plan.

Tahzib is available on the Web, Android, and Windows. Installed versions initially include Hafs data only; other riwayat can then be downloaded on demand. Essential data works offline, and your plans and preferences remain on your device.

At the heart of Tahzib

Division that preserves the thread of meaning

Tadabbur-based tahzib is not a merely arithmetic split of the text into equal portions. The engine uses data describing meaning relationships and thematic continuity between verses to seek coherent reading endings.

It favors recommended boundaries, excludes boundaries classified as forbidden by default, and then balances reading quantity. The goal is to create practical portions without interrupting a strong unit of meaning.

How does the engine choose boundaries?

The engine weighs the semantic quality of a boundary against the requested quantity, with meaning given strong priority in its default settings.

  1. Read the relationships

Each possible boundary is evaluated using meaning links, thematic continuity, and the available boundary decisions.

  2. Choose a coherent ending

Recommended boundaries are favored, while boundaries that would break a strong semantic or thematic link are avoided.

  3. Balance the portion

Among eligible boundaries, the engine brings portions closer to the target amount without making meaning secondary.

Three uses, one engine

Choose the format that fits your worship or study, then customize its range and riwaya.

  • Khatma plan

Choose the number of days and daily readings for the whole Quran or a custom range.

  • Prayer plan

Distribute reading across nights and rakahs, with a focused view that signals transitions between rakahs and taslims.

  • Tahzib plan

Define multiple levels, their names, and subdivision counts to build a custom hierarchy.
